About Me

My name is Jerry. I am 53 years old, I was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Rochester, New York, and after living in Northern California for more than 20 years, I now reside in the Pacific Northwest in the great state of Washington. I am a freelance writer, PR professional, disc jockey, SportsTalk radio show host, and play-by-play announcer for local high school sports.

In 2017, I became a published author. The Dark Passage Series is a trilogy of vampire stories set in modern-day San Francisco. Be sure to check out my official website.

I am a husband and father, a writer/blogger, a sports fanatic, a voracious reader, a Gothic horror/weird tales fan, a movie and history buff, an exercise addict, a B-Boy for Life, and a proud member of the extended Beat Generation.

You can find me on Twitter @GetTheKnaak, and Instagram (@jerryknaak – it’s private so you’ll have to shoot me a follow request). Please listen to my podcasts if you are so inclined.

I could live in a bookstore. And if I had my druthers I’d buy a cabin in the woods (oh wait, I bought a house near the beach) and write novels for the rest of my life. I buy more books than I have time to read.

Dean Koontz is my favorite author, but I am a fan of many writers including but not limited to Stephen King, Anne Rice, Jack Kerouac, Dan Brown, H.P. Lovecraft, Kurt Vonnegut, H.G. Wells, and Clive Barker. I have a newfound appreciation for Gillian Flynn and Jennifer Egan as well.
