About Me

My name is Jerry. I am 54 years old, I was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Rochester, New York, and after living in Northern California for more than 20 years, I now reside in the Pacific Northwest in the great state of Washington. I am a freelance writer, PR professional, disc jockey, and play-by-play announcer for local high school sports.

In 2017, I became a published author. The Dark Passage Series is a collection of vampire stories set in modern-day San Francisco. Be sure to check out my official website.

I am a husband and father, a writer/blogger, a sports fanatic, a voracious reader, a Gothic horror/weird tales fan, a movie and history buff, an exercise addict, a B-Boy for Life, and a proud member of the extended Beat Generation.

You can find me on Twitter @GetTheKnaak, and Instagram (@jerryknaak – it’s private so you’ll have to shoot me a follow request). Please listen to my podcasts if you are so inclined.

I could live in a bookstore. And if I had my druthers I’d buy a cabin in the woods (oh wait, I bought a house near the beach) and write novels for the rest of my life. I buy more books than I have time to read.

I am a fan of many writers including but not limited to Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Stephen Graham Jones, Grady Hendrix, Anne Rice, Jack Kerouac, Dan Brown, H.P. Lovecraft, Kurt Vonnegut, H.G. Wells, and Clive Barker. I have a newfound appreciation for Gillian Flynn and Jennifer Egan as well.
